About Sound
For as long as I can remember, music has always been a passion of mine. I still remember my first walkman, my first cassette tape, my first portable cd player! When I got my first car, the first thing I upgraded was the sound system. I grew up in Southern California with roots in New Mexico so, I have a rich history of many different kinds of music.
Not only do I enjoy almost EVERY kind of music, but I enjoy the science behind it. After experimenting with making my own music, I have an appreciation for the hard work and dedication that goes into creating uplifting, momentous and iconic music. I am enamored with the way that music and culture are so interwoven that the question is forever relevant "Does art imitate life or does life imitate art?"
I enjoy writing about music and the technical aspect of creating it and listening to it. Dive into the scientific side of the art with me in the Music Theory Blog.
Another way to express myself with sound is by collecting and organizing my favorite tracks into playlists and custom stations.
Many years ago, the internet lead me to the community that taught me how to use computers and software to double down on my love of listening to music and begin creating my very own music. Check out some of the early vocals on SouthwestRhymes and the Instrumental project titled, artsciencebeats.
