About *Cool With You//

Born of appreciation for the female expression, this playlist is a safe place from the violence, substance abuse and shame culture often attributed to popular music. Studying the Culture of Beautiful has led me to spending some time in LGBTQ+ spaces. There was a time before Tumblr tightened up on female nudity that there were thousands of accounts dedicated to the beauty of the female form from a female perspective.

Spending that time gave me perspective on the shortcomings of society in regards to being accepting of other cultures and ideas, including the idea of a woman loving another woman. Now, this is not an explicitly lesbian music playlist. It celebrates women doing things independently and sharing some of the spotlight with some of the more underrepresented identities in today's society.

I am a straight male.

Although, I haven't always identified with the traditional norms of male masculinity, I am indeed a straight man. However, I appreciate fine art, I believe in pacifism in MOST cases, I am intrigued by learning from books and I often find boys and immature men to be exhausting. Although, I often find nude women sexy, I also believe that women have been oversexualized.

I am an ally.

I believe love is free and open to whatever interpretation you honestly identify with. As it turns out, I have a lot more in common with lesbians than I do with the "men" that I'm supposed to identify with as a man. I've stated many times that I listen to music of all genres and this is no different. It's not much but, I hope this feels like a safe place for you to be yourself.

These are the songs that fit that description and that I also find pleasing to the senses and by sharing it with you, I'm saying, I want to be *Cool With You.
